Chapel Arches Consultancy Project
  • Chapel Arches is a comprehensive, phased development in the heart of Maidenhead town centre. It comprises three individual sites either side of the York Stream, a key part of the Maidenhead Waterways Scheme. This is one of a number of Opportunity Areas (OA 5) identified in the Council’s Area Action Plan (AAP) adopted in 2011. The AAP was prepared to provide a vision for the rejuvenation of the town centre.
  • Kevin Scott Consultancy has worked on this project for a number of years from promoting the site through the AAP process, pre-application consultations with officers, significant public consultation, and preparing and submitting applications for this three phased development. We obtained planning permission in May 2014 for 242 apartments and approximately 3000 sqm of commercial space.
  • Subsequently we have advised on various matters associated with the project including, approval of reserved matters, discharge of conditions, amendments to the scheme as it progressed to the construction process and a planning application for a new amphitheatre associated with the scheme which will provide a new focus for the community adjacent to the York Stream.
  • Phases 1 and 2 are nearing completion and will be occupied shortly.
  • This is a key part of the town centre regeneration process and the redevelopment of these sites is helping to transform the town centre.
