Social housing scheme approved by Hammersmith and Fulham

Hammersmith and Fulham resolved to grant permission for 14 affordable rented apartments and a replacement community centre at Emlyn Gardens W12. Of these, 8 will be specialist housing for people with learning difficulties, to be managed by Yarrow Housing.  The remainder will be managed by the Shepherds Bush Housing Group.

Yarrow has been supporting people with learning difficulties for over 26 years in Hammersmith and Fulham.  It has been rated as outstanding for care twice by the Care Quality Commission.

Abbey Road, Westminster – Planning permission for basement

Planning permission and listed building consent have been secured for basement excavation at a Grade II Listed property in Abbey Road London.  Initial concerns from the Council regarding compliance with Westminster City Council’s strict new basement policy, impact on trees and SUDS were overcome to secure consent and avoid the need to contest the application at appeal.

Outline Planning Permission Granted in Walton-on-Thames

We are very pleased to have successfully overturned Elmbridge Council’s refusal to grant outline planning permission for 6 new houses in Walton-on-Thames for our client Finesse Homes.   The site is currently occupied by 2 houses and despite heavy local opposition from residents and local councillors the Inspector agreed with our case on the principle of redeveloping the site, density, design, parking and amenity.

Appeal Allowed for 5 dwellings in Redhill

 

Kay Collins has recently secured outline planning consent on behalf of Anwick Homes for five dwellings on a site in Redhill within Reigate and Banstead Council.  The application site had been the subject of three refused planning applications and two dismissed appeals.  The revised proposals addressed previous reasons for refusal specifically relating to character and appearance resulting in proposals that were considered acceptable in the context of the streetscene and surrounding developments.

Beech Lodge School – Secretary of State Grants Permission for New School, Stubbings, Maidenhead

This is a decision that we could not be more pleased about.  Following an Inquiry earlier this year the Secretary of State has granted permission for the new school for Beech Lodge.

Beech Lodge School is a charity based, non-maintained school for pupils with particular special educational needs.  The school provides day-school education and a therapeutic environment for pupils with special educational needs who are deemed unsuited for mainstream school.

Formula E in Battersea Park

We have been involved in securing temporary planning consent for the Formula E event, held in Battersea Park, for the last two years.  This year’s event will take place on the 2nd and 3rd July involving races around the carriage drives of Battersea Park on both days. This year’s event is the last to be held in Battersea Park with discussions underway to arrange a street race in central London for following years.
