The Shed, Ferry Road, Southwold

Kay Collins has secured planning permission this month for the replacement of a locally listed building in the seaside town of Southwold, in conjunction with Keith Hiley Associates on behalf of a private client.

The site lies within the Southwold Conservation Area and the existing locally listed building, although of poor quality, was considered to make an important contribution to the conservation area.  The redevelopment proposals needed to balance the conservation issues relating to the loss of a locally listed building ...

Henley Road, Caversham

We have recently secured a recommendation to approve an application for 42 dwellings on a site in Reading Borough Council on behalf of Beaulieu Homes.

The current application was submitted following refusal of a larger scheme for 62 dwellings which was refused for 15 reasons including issues such as highways, flooding, design and housing mix.  We worked alongside the client and MZA architects in preparing the revised scheme which addressed the previous reasons for refusal as well as dealing with the ...

York Road, Maidenhead

We have submitted an application to RBWM on behalf of Shanly Homes for the redevelopment of the site of Desborough Bowling Club in Maidenhead town centre.  We previously helped secure planning permission for a new, state of the art, bowling facility for the club to relocate too.

Resolution to grant secured for 59 units in Aylesbury

We have secured a resolution to grant permission for 59 units on the former Dayla Drinks site in Aylesbury town centre on behalf of Shanly Homes. This permission will be the conclusion to a long period of negotiating an appropriate development with the Council’s officers following a previous application and unsuccessful appeal.  The appeal, although dismissed, provided a strong blueprint for what would be deemed to be an acceptable development on the site.  By working alongside the Council we will ...

Permission for conversion of employment units in Braintree DC, Essex

We are very pleased to have secured planning permission to convert some underused employment units to residential in the village of Great Bardfield for Bedlar Holdings Limited.

This is particularly welcome as it has been a complicated and process to demonstrate that the units were no longer sustainable for employment use and to work with the architects, Clague and Studio South East, to create eight attractive homes with an innovative approach to amenity space.

Great to start the New Year with an appeal win

The Planning Inspectorate has overturned a refusal by the London Borough of Barnet for a rear extension and conversion of a property to provide three flats.  The Inspector accepted our case that the design would preserve the appearance of the Conservation Area and that an acceptable standard of living accommodation would be provided.
